Cookie & Storage Policy
This policy explains how epilogue.co uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies. The short version: we don't set any cookies ourselves. We use local storage for essential functionality like your shopping cart, and cookieless analytics to understand site usage.

1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. Local storage is a similar browser feature that allows websites to store data on your device without expiration dates. Both are used to remember information between visits.
This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
2. Cookies on epilogue.co
The epilogue.co website does not set any cookies. We use local storage (see Section 3) for client-side functionality instead. However, third-party services integrated into our site may set their own cookies as described below.
3. Local Storage
We use your browser's local storage to store information essential to site functionality. Unlike cookies, local storage data is never sent to our servers automatically - it stays on your device and is only read by our client-side code.
3.1 Shopping Cart
Product quantities are stored in local storage so your cart persists between page visits and browser sessions.
3.2 Country and Pricing
Your detected country code is stored locally to display appropriate pricing and tax information. This is initially detected from Cloudflare edge headers and persisted so it doesn't need to be re-detected on every visit.
3.3 Marketing Attribution
When you arrive at our site via a marketing link, we store attribution data in local storage. This includes:
- UTM parameters (source, medium, campaign, term, content) - stored for 30 days
- Advertising click identifiers from platforms such as Google, Meta, Microsoft, X, TikTok, and LinkedIn - stored for 7 to 90 days depending on platform
- Session start timestamp - stored for the browser session only
This attribution data is included as cart metadata when you proceed to checkout, helping us understand which marketing channels are effective. It is not sent to our servers at any other time.
4. Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website. Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-focused and does not use cookies, local storage, or tracking pixels. It provides aggregated, anonymous metrics about page views and visitor counts without tracking individual users. No opt-out is required.
5. Third-Party Services
The following third-party services are loaded on our site and may use their own cookies or storage mechanisms:
5.1 Shopify (Checkout)
When you proceed to checkout, you are redirected to our Shopify store (store.epilogue.co). Shopify sets its own cookies on that domain, including session cookies, cart cookies, and analytics cookies. These cookies are not set on epilogue.co. See Shopify's privacy policy for details.
5.2 Cloudflare
Our site is served through Cloudflare, which provides CDN, security, and performance services. Cloudflare may set cookies for security purposes (such as bot detection). See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
5.3 Cloudflare Turnstile (Bot Prevention)
Our newsletter signup uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a CAPTCHA alternative that verifies you are human without requiring traditional puzzle solving. Turnstile is only loaded on pages with newsletter signup forms and may use its own cookies or tokens. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.
5.4 Vimeo (Embedded Videos)
Product pages may include embedded video players from Vimeo. We load these with the dnt=1 (Do Not Track) parameter to minimize tracking. Vimeo may still set its own cookies when videos are loaded. See Vimeo's privacy policy for details.
6. How to Control Cookies and Local Storage
6.1 Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can usually find these in the "options" or "preferences" menu. You can set your browser to:
- Delete all cookies
- Block all cookies
- Block third-party cookies
- Clear cookies when you close your browser
- Open a 'private browsing' / 'incognito' session
6.2 Clearing Local Storage
You can clear local storage through your browser's developer tools or by clearing all site data in your browser settings (typically found under "Clear browsing data"). Note that clearing local storage will reset your shopping cart and stored preferences.
Note: Blocking cookies or clearing local storage may affect the functionality of our website. Your shopping cart and country/pricing preferences will be reset.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" feature that lets you tell websites you don't want your online activities tracked. Our site uses cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) that does not track individual users regardless of this setting. We also pass the Do Not Track parameter to embedded Vimeo videos.
8. Updates to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date.
